IMAGINE THAT YOU WERE WALKING by a house engulfed in flames. To your horror
you see a mother working hard preparing the family meal; father is relaxing
reading the evening paper; the children are busy playing with their toys...and
all are unaware of the danger they are in.
What would be your response?
Of course you would do everything you could to warn and save the occupants. What
you would not do is... nothing.
This is how it is with evangelism.
Everyday you and I are walking by people who are oblivious to the flames of hell
surrounding them and of their eternal destiny if those flames are not put out.
It is our responsibility to do everything we can to extinguish these flames.
Knowing the horrors of hell, what we would not do is...nothing.
As a Christian, we have tasted the pleasantries of heaven and the horrors of
hell. Because of this knowledge, we are compelled to do something, anything, to
help others to escape the horrible destiny that awaits those living in
disobedience to Jesus Christ. What we would not do is...nothing.
The key to evangelism is nothing more than seeing the flames surrounding a
person and doing something to extinguish them.
