PROSPERITY AND SECURITY HAS A way of making one think that they are
blessed when a deadly disease is eating away at them.
Revelation 3:17 informs us that the apostate church in the last days will equate
their wealth, many possessions, and security to spiritual health and blessing.
However, the reality is that they do not see their deadly, sinful condition and
need for repentance.
The prophet Daniel informs us that the man of sin (antichrist) will deceive the
world through prosperity. The church in the last days will take the devil's bait
and rely on the "things" of this world instead of the things of God.
When money, possessions, and security become the means by which we sense God,
conformity is the result and the church becomes neither hot nor cold for the
things of God, with one foot in the world and the other foot in Christ. In God's
measurement of things, this conformity to the world's toys means the church
needs to repent. The church must recognize its sin and repent of its sin to rise
above the apostasy it is in.
There is an indictment against the modern church: it calls itself God's people
while living in the ways of the world.
It is past time for the church to wake up to the fact that we are called to be
separate from the world and its ways.
It is past time for each and every Christian to choose this day to live fully
for God and in radical separation from the world. If we continue to allow our
money, possessions, and security be the gage for our spiritual prosperity--the
devil has us right where he wants us.
