world in chaos...stress...heart failure...hope...peace

A U G U S T
2 0 1 1

A lot is taking place throughout our world that  is causing a lot of people a lot of stressed concern:

  • economic woes

  • disturbing natural disasters

  • unbridled morality

  • gray line between right and wrong

  • wars and rumors of wars

  • and much more in every area of life

The stress will be so great that heart failure will be the result (Luke 21:25-26).  But this is not the way of those embracing the name of Christ; read, think upon,  and understand these words by the Apostle Paul:

"For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."  (Romans 8:24-25)

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have
no hope." (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

Though all the  world be in chaos, we don't have to  fret and worry, our hope is not in anything that belongs to this world.  Our hope is in the eternal promise that we are only pilgrims and strangers here looking forward to an  eternal  inheritance which we do not physically have as yet, but will receive soon.

In the midst of all the great anxiety and stress that overcomes our world, we can have peace, not the peace that the world knows which comes when circumstances are in harmony; but the peace that  is there  in the midst of the most stressful and life threatening of situations, as Jesus spoke in the following verse:

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. " (John 14:27)

"Let
not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:1-3)

In these last days things are guaranteed to grow worse, and the temptation to allow stress overcome us will be ever present.  The great comfort is that God, through His Holy Spirit, will give to each of us peace in the midst of the most difficult of situations.  Let us find that peace in our present troubles to prepare us for the great trials that will soon be upon us.

Until next time…

Be so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
